Most of what leaves our shop starts on a mill. We run eleven machining centers, from 3-axis verticals for simple plates to 5-axis trunnion machines for parts that would need six setups anywhere else.
Fewer setups means fewer chances to lose a datum. On a 5-axis machine we can often finish a part in one or two clamps, which is where most of our tolerance comes from.

How a milling job runs
Every job gets a DFM review before we quote it. We program in CAM, prove the program on the first part, measure that part on the CMM and send you the report before the run starts.
