Round parts go to one of our eight lathes. Turning centers with live tooling handle shafts, flanges and fittings up to 12 in across. Swiss-type machines take bar stock down to 1/8 in and finish small parts complete, with no second operation.
Bar feeders let the Swiss machines run through the second shift with one person watching three machines.

Why Swiss
A Swiss lathe supports the bar right next to the cut, so long thin parts stay straight. If your part is longer than four times its diameter, it probably belongs on one.
